In 2006 a small group of Christians from the Delton area wanted to do more for the community and envisioned a new church in Delton. Pastor Roger Claypool was at the time an associate pastor at Prairieville Bible Church and wanted to see more growth in the Lord for the community as well. The small group approached Pastor Claypool and shared their vision with him and right away felt that this was the direction his calling was meant to go.
The group now had a pastor and a purpose, Solid Rock Bible Church of Delton was formed! While without a "church building", and services being held in a home, the member count began to grow quickly, everyone agreed that it was time to think about a permanent home for the pastor and the growing congregation. The former Milo Church just happened to be on the market, it was a blessing and everyone was onboard to purchase the building.
The old Milo Church was constructed in the 1970s and was a sister church of the Gull Lake Bible Church. At some point for unknown reasons attendance was falling and the original church was struggling, it was agreed upon by the pastor at that time and the remaining congregation to sell the building and had been used for various business's over the years.
After extensive remodeling by the members, (even the pastor)
, the church started holding services in February 2007
. SRBC does not boast big programs or big entertainment but Pastor Claypool preaches the word and prepares his message straight from the Bible. SRBC church does have music as we sing the old hymns and on occasion special music performances. Story Time
and Junior Church for the small adults as well as a nursery for the wee ones.
SRBC is here to contribute to the community and compete with Satan, winning souls for the Lord is the goal.
Church services are every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday evening Bible study at 6:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome and membership is FREE!
